DEL MONTE HEIGHTS, Seaside — October 2026. Residents in the Del Monte Heights area can receive water from a city-operated municipal system rather than the private utility that serves much of the rest of Seaside. The City of Seaside’s official water-system page identifies one groundwater well and two storage tanks holding 500,000 gallons each. Its most recent annual consumer report covers water-quality sampling in 2025 and was prepared in May 2026.
Why the service boundary matters
Not all Seaside addresses are on the same drinking-water system. A Monterey LAFCO municipal-services review identifies Del Monte Heights as the area supplied by the city-run system, while other central portions are served by California American Water. Customers should confirm their specific address against the city’s published water-service address list before assuming that a rate, contamination test or outage notice applies to them.
What did the lead-line inventory find?
The city states that it completed an inventory of service lines and did not identify any lead service lines in the municipal system’s service area. That finding is about the inventoried service lines; it is not proof that water from every household faucet has been tested or that all older indoor plumbing is lead-free. For an address-specific inquiry, residents can contact city Public Works at (831) 899-6835 or pwinfo@ci.seaside.ca.us.
Is another water source planned?
City educational materials discuss the system’s reliance on one active well and studies of a reliable backup water source. A discussion or feasibility study must not be confused with a completed new well. Water-conservation rebates, utility rates and residential disconnection protections are also published by the city. Customers experiencing payment difficulties should contact their actual provider about available arrangements.
Where to read the full 2025 report
Seaside links its 2025 Consumer Confidence Report and water-service address directory from the municipal-water webpage. Because annual reports may include samples from earlier testing years, anyone comparing results should consult the original laboratory tables and sampling dates.
